What is Optical Memory Card (OMC)?

Optical Memory Card (OMC) features a high data density, durable optical data storage medium. Digital data stored in the optical stripe cannot be altered (of critical importance in applications demanding security) and records can be securely updated throughout the life of the card. The OMC is offered in three stripe configurations, providing customers with the opportunity to optimize the card to their specific application requirements.

The 35mm optical stripe enables maximum usable data storage capacity — up to 2.8 Mbytes

The 24mm stripe delivers an optimized solution for the use of optical memory in travel/government ID applications requiring the ICAO-compliant Machine Readable zone

The 16mm stripe accommodates the co-existence of optical memory and a contact IC chip for e-government applications

In addition to the contact chip option the OMC can be supplied with various contactless and RFID technologies laminated into the card structure.

Background printing options

• Silkscreen printing for simple designs with limited numbers of colours
• Offset printing for high resolution printing and multiple colours, including security printing features, such as guilloche patterns, microline and microtext, rainbow, etc.

Personalization

The OMC is available with its personalization surfaces optimized for:
• High resolution color retransfer printing
• Monochromatic laser engraving

Security features

Embedded HologramTM personalizable Optical Variable Device, micro images, overt, covert and forensic features, digital serialization (laser engraved or encoded in optical memory) and secure data access control.
